2. Anthony Nese
Add The Premier Athlete to the list of talents TNA once had, and let walk. Last time around, he asked to be released, so he could work a less-restrictive indy schedule, and work iPPVs with some pretty big names. Since then, Nese has torn it up on the indies, working with some of the biggest free agents in the world, and putting on routinely great matches.
The Upside: He looks like a star. He wrestles like a star. He carries himself like a star. And very quietly, he’s building a reputation for himself on the indy scene as a star. He will have good matches with pretty much anyone you stick in the ring with him, and he’ll look good doing it.
The Risk: I’ve been watching Nese for a good majority of his career, since he had his first matches in my local indy. He’s never been much of a talker. He’a a soft-spoken dude who lets his actions do the talking. If you’re looking for money promos, he’s probably not your guy. Stick him with a manager, or make him a silent killer, and you’ll be better than ok.
