10 Better Ways for TNA to Spend $400k than on Alberto Del Rio

7. Chris Hero

Forget what you remember from the former Kassius Ohno’s run in WWE developmental.  If there’s a part of his career that should stand out to you, that one isn’t it.  Chris Hero was an indy god for years,  having amazing runs in PWG, CZW, and ROH.  He has a fan base who feel burned by his run in NXT.  They’re waiting for him to arrive on the big time.  And when he does, he has the charisma and the work ethic to appease his pre-existing fanbase, and the folks watching him for the first time.

The Upside: Seriously, have you never watched Chris Hero work?  The guy is gifted in the ring.  Don’t take my word for it, though.  Look the guy up, and check out what he did outside of WWE… then realize he comes with tons of WWE training.  He knows the business.  He gets the business.  He’s money.  Plus, despite being a former WWE talent, he’d still be more of a TNA creation, a la ECIII, since he never made the main roster anyway.  He’s found money.

The Risk: If you’ve seen recent pictures of Hero, you know his body…well, it fluctuates.  As someone who has been having trouble taking and keeping weight off recently, I definitely sympathize.  But at the end of the day, professional wrestling is an incredibly cosmetic business, and aesthetics count.   Hero used to be a big fat guy, who lost A TON of weight, but has chubbed back up in the wake of an “I can’t work out” back injury.  Injuries and weight are the only risks I see to having Chris Hero on your roster.  Even then, I’d say SIGN THIS MAN, NOW.
