NYWC: Angry Andy Reviews "Hotter Than Hell"

J-Redd calls out Stockade.  He’s pissed that Stockade offered his hand in respect to J-Ro last month, and feels slighted, because HE originated the J-R name gimmick.  That was funny.  Stockade comes out and kicks the ever-loving crap out of J-Redd.  The rest of the A-Listers eventually come out to save J-Redd, and team up on Stockade.  I couldn’t believe they waited so long.  Bill Carr and Dan Barry come out to even the odds, chase off the A-Listers, and do their “good cop, bad cop” gimmick on J-Redd.  Then, Crusher Doogan comes out with Matthew Justice, Jesse Vane and Arya.  He threatens to reveal Stockade’s deep, dark secret, unless he hightails it…so he does.  This leads to…

Bill Carr and Dan Barry (Team Tremendous) vs Justice and Vane (Athletic Inc.)
Crowd was pretty quiet here coming off of that long, run-on sentence of a segment, but this match was good.  Athletic Inc are so good, and so underrated as a team.  Barry and Carr work their new gimmick SO well.  It’s a lot of fun.  These two teams together?  A lot of fun.  Team Tremendous win with what I can only describe as a Doomsday-Sliced-Bread-Number 2.  If you understand what I mean by that, then +1 for you.

What worked:  The action was good, and Athletic Inc are a solid, established team, quite capable of helping establish Team Tremendous.  I’d love to see these guys mix it up again.

What made me angry: The pre-match segment stretched way too long—long enough to be its own stand-alone segment. Using that to transition into a match, within the same segment, kinda dragged.  I’m not sure how I feel about the “I’ll tell your secret unless…” story they’re telling with Stockade and Crusher Doogan, but I’ll wait and see where it goes before I judge it.
