Dolph Ziggler (C) vs. The Miz

There’s a lot to love in this match, but after Cesaro-Sheamus — and the wonderful work they’ve been doing with R. and Dolph Ziggler — it came off a little disappointing. The Miz winning is good news for people who like Bad News Barrett (as a heel champion likely hints at him coming back soon-ish) and people, like your correspondent, who just love the Miz.

These are two highly competent performers who told an interesting if not particularly engrossing story in the ring, and one that I wouldn’t mind seeing a continuation of. But, unlike what happened before and after this match, it’s hard to say that it’s at the level of near-compulsion that Sheamus-Cesaro or Rollins-Ambrose have generated.
