4. CM Punk

Let me start this off with a disclaimer. Before anyone gives me a heaping serving of shit for proposing this, let me be clear: it’s not happening. I know it’s not happening. We all know it’s not happening. There’s a better chance of Vince McMahon climbing into the stands, handing me a check for whatever Punk would’ve been paid, and asking me to take his spot.

Now, with that said…

Why it works: Imagine it, for just a minute. Roman Reigns makes his entrance, and waits for Brock. Paul Heyman walks out and says Brock isn’t here to wrestle Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but another Paul Heyman Guy is. “Cult of Personality” hits, and the crowd goes absolutely apeshit crazy.

Not only would the crowd immediately forgive the bait and switch, but this match would be really, really good. CM Punk could definitely carry Reigns to a WrestleMania-worthy match, regardless of the outcome.

Why it would make me angry: It’s another match where Reigns has no chance of getting cheered. Besides that, I’m quite simply not ready to forgive Punk. I miss the hell out of him as a performer, but he’s so bitter towards professional wrestling (and its fanbase, like it’s all OUR fault) that I’m just not interested in watching him do much of anything…until he makes his UFC debut.
