Andy Will Be Angry If…: The Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

The Buildup

The buildup for this match has been interesting, at best. Not one of the six men challenging Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship have done anything to earn a title shot. All Dolph Ziggler or The Miz did was say “hey, I want a title shot.” Sami Zayn keeps seeking revenge for the NXT attack, which is almost never referenced, in the most poorly-explained blood feud in recent history. Zack Ryder, Stardust and Sin Cara were literally to the match as jokes.
Tell me again how Kevin Owens is the heel in this match?
Once the match was announced, things got a little bit better. Zack Ryder was pushed like a guy who is a decent enough wrestler to make it to the WWE roster. The remainder of the competitors squared off in a solid six-man tag on Raw (despite the best efforts of a tired crowd to sabotage it.)  It seems like almost anyone could walk away with the IC title, even Ryder.
And that means Owens is going to retain the championship.
The absolute best case scenario is that Kevin Owens manages to cheat Sami Zayn out of a win, and retain the championship himself. No one gets hurt, and everyone involved has some legitimate booking direction in the weeks and months that follow.
Worst case scenario? Sin Cara wins, and everyone else in the match tears their ACL. And since Sin Cara is, in fact, Sin Cara, he will also tear his ACL. Because Sin Cara.
