Kickoff Match – WWE Tag Team Championship
Cesaro & Tyson Kidd (c) vs The New Day
I’m excited for this match, and for a couple of reasons. First off, rumor has it that Cesaro and Kidd got such great babyface reactions on the European tour that they’re going to work face in this match. That means big swings and big uppercuts by Cesaro and some general showing off by Kidd. I’m also excited that they’re working against suddenly-strong heels in The New Day, who are finally catching on in the exact way they were supposed to. This is a good combination, and the best possible way to kick off this show.
I’ll be angry if: The New Day win the titles. They’re catching on, which is good. But they’re not quite there yet. A loss here will give them something else to be angry about, and help them further develop their characters, far better than a win.
I’ll keep my cool if: The New Day continue their heelish ways… in defeat. Cesaro and Kidd are allowed to go all out as babyfaces, and get a few “oh wow” moments to shine.
I’m expecting: Big E and Kofi put on a great heel performance. Big E gets a big swing, and a dropkick from Kidd. Kofi Kingston gets launched into the air for a European Uppercut for the highlight reel. Champs retain.
