The NXT Scouting Report, 12/18: Kevin Owens Likes to Hurt People

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley

Bayley subdued entrance is a great sign she understands the psychology of her chosen field. Any wrestler who can sell her story on the way to the ring as well as in it has a huge advantage over those who stick to their signature movements regardless of the story. She also showed a nice furious anger in the ring. With Charlotte and Sasha Banks still firmly entrenched in the top spots, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of story Bayley can tell. The NXT advantage is that stars move on and everyone gets their turn at the top. Will Bayley fans be patient if she’s in mid-card feuds for awhile?

Becky Lynch’s backstage promo before the match was really good. Confident, mean without being a cartoon, and just enough of her accent to give her a different feel than the rest of the roster.  We still don’t have a definitive characteristic she can use to sell herself, but good god at least she’s not stuck with that Riverdance gimmick. If this was 2005, she’d have already humiliated herself with a Lord of the Dance number on Raw. This is the true progress of WWE talent development. Rejoice.

Bayley – 95%
Becky Lynch – 53%
