Andy Will Be Angry If…: Hell in a Cell Edition

HELL IN A CELL MATCH

John Cena vs. Randy Orton

Earlier this week, Nick wrote about the IWC’s reaction to this match, and the fact that the winner gets a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.  He essentially rolled his eyes at the fans who are rolling their eyes at this match.  Often, I agree with the Nickster.  But not here.

I’m not even a little bit excited about either one of these guys right now.  I’m even less excited about the prospect of them wrestling each other, on pay-per-view, yet again.  In an era where even the new stuff feels old and unoriginal, this feels like the ultimate re-run.

And the fact that the winner of the match you had to lose your way into gets the shot at Lesnar?  Don’t get me started.

At least Orton got to cut an in-ring promo, sans-Authority.

That said, the match is going to be good.  These guys, whether you like it or not, always seem to bring out the best in one another.  Orton will work the crowd to perfection.  Cena will be the ultimate babyface…even though half the crowd wants him to be the king of all heels.  At the end of the night, you’ll be happy you watched this match.

You’ll be even happier you didn’t have to pay $44.95 to see it.

I’ll be angry if: Orton looks like a bitch in losing to Cena.  They’ve got a couple hundred heavyweight title runs between them, and deserve to be presented at the same level.  If Orton isn’t presented as a viable threat and legitimate contender to the title, he may as well go home.

I’ll keep my cool if: Orton wins, clean.  Lesnar murders Randy Orton in their title match, giving Orton time to go home and heal up those nagging injuries.  Cena wins the Rumble, and goes on to battle Lesnar in one last match at Wrestlemania.  Cena turns heel, and then we begin the real main event build for Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Cesaro.

What I’m expecting: Orton and Cena kick out of each other’s finishers a few times.  Cena pins Orton.  Cena goes on to battle Lesnar again, and gets the title back.  The backlash to Cena winning his 16th title makes the backlash to end of The Streak look like Nick and I arguing about what to watch on the WWE Network, for which he paid $9.99.
