Andy Will Be Angry If…: WWE Battleground Edition

20-Man Battle Royal

This will be the second time since Wrestlemania that a title champion is crowned after a battle royal (looking at you, Sheamus) and the third time a champion will be crowned without actually beating the champion (Cena, TLC).  It is what it is.

It’s important that WWE make this an absolute war, like they’ve managed with both the Wrestlemania battle royal, and the US title battle royal from Raw.  They also need to prevent these matches from becoming watered down, AND immediately establish the winner as the #2 guy in the company.  Bad News Barrett was on his way… but alas.

I’ll be angry if: WWE puts the title on a joke character, a former world champion on the decline, or someone already embroiled in a title feud.  No Miz. No Sheamus. No RVD. No Del Rio (Editor’s note: F*ck You, Love Nick.) No RybAxel.

I’ll keep my cool if: WWE does what actually makes sense here… to me, there are only three options that make ANY sense.  Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, and Bo Dallas.

Dolph is on a solid rebound, following what’s been an awful year for him post-World Heavyweight Championship.

Cesaro is always awesome, but has lost some of the steam he had post-Wrestlemania.

Bo Dallas has a lot of upside, and the IC title could make for a really interesting prop in the #BOLIEVE movement.

I’m not sure I’d be willing to put the #2 belt in the company on him just yet, but it would at least make sense.  He #BOLIEVED, and he achieved.  Something like that.

Now watch Titus O’Neil win the damn thing, and leave me scratching my head.
