“DOES AN R. TRUTH IN THE WOODS?” VS. RUSEV

The question for this match isn’t “who will win”, it’s “how long will it take for Rusev to put both of these guys in Accolade.” The over/under is 4:37.

While he was unable to get both R. Truth and Xavier Woods in his finisher — mostly because he dead’d Xavier Woods on the outside before the match started so he could eventually KILL him after it was over — the speech by Lana, where she talked about her hero Vladimir Putin, was longer than this match. Which presents a conundrum: is it necessary to include everything that happened in these eight minutes or so surrounding this match, or just the match itself. If we are operating under that we should be looking at simply what happens bell-to-bell, this match was one of the bigger busts of the last two years — essentially since they were using the old “Ryback special” to fill PPV time. But, if we are looking at the entire package, Lana’s speech and Rusev’s “Crush!” on the outside to Woods would certainly be worth a rewatch. Or six.
