The first-ever WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal Match 
The Dream: Jerry Lawler is legally barred from calling this match.
The Reality: Some rando wins, after Bayley and Sasha eliminate each other.
Jerry Lawler was, in fact, not ringside for the Women’s Battle Royal and was instead replaced by Beth Phoenix and Paige. So, that’s a plus in my book. Unfortunately, pretty much everything else was neutral to negative for me. Outside of the ‘rando’ being Naomi, one of my favorite performers on SDL and most deserving competitors on the roster for this kind of recognition, of course.
While the NXT girls taking over the middle of the match had potential, it was largely squander and mostly forgotten by the time the match got to the sparklers workshop of Bayley and Sasha’s impossibly slow burning feud that’s also somehow been reduced to ashes? I love both of those two, but Bayley’s petulance at the end of the match over Naomi’s presence, mixed with Sasha’s continued awareness that’s she’s kind of the worst makes me want them to form a heel tag team and get on with it. Or, like, literally anything other than this thing they are doing, please. It makes me hate watching them.
