Round Two Match

Rick Cataldo vs. Sammy Pickles

These two squared off last month, when it looked like Sammy was going to take the title…until Rick got himself DQ’d. That led to the title being vacated, this show and tournament being announced…and now, the rematch.

Rick attacks before the bell, and controls a lot of the match up until the finish. Sammy wins clean with a sunset flip powerbomb (think Amazing Red/Rey Mysterio — you’ve seen it).  Post match, Rick throws a hissy fit and murders Sammy in the ring.  The locker room clears to break up the beatdown, and Sammy is carried to the back.  Brittany Savage comes back out and rips into Rick, before announcing her vs. Cataldo at NYWC’s next all-Starlet show in May.

What I liked: A big babyface win for Sammy.  A big heel display by Rick.  Storyline building and a real hook for the next all-starlet show.  Oh, and a whole lot of doubt cast over the main event.
