This wasn’t perfect, but this was a thousand times better than I expected it to be. All involved worked really hard, and brought out some big moves.  The Opposition retain after a big 3-way spotfest.

What I liked: I judge these guys hard when they came out, and didn’t expect this to be good. It was a big spotfest, but it was a pretty decent one. They managed to get the crowd involved, despite nobody having a clue who they were.

What made me angry: There’s something to be said about “looking like a wrestler.”  I roll my eyes when guys like King Kong Bundy say guys like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels ruined the business by being small guys at the top of the card.

I roll my eyes when people disregard guys like Punk and Bryan with an “I could beat them up” attitude.  But here?  None of these guys looked like wrestlers.  A couple of big fat dudes, a skinny guy wearing bicycle shorts, a t-shirt and sneakers, an alright-looking dude with a gut, and a lanky white dude.  I turned to my friend Mike at one point and said “That’s why I could never be a wrestler. Even at my biggest, I’d only ever look like that.”  I don’t mean this to be disrespectful to the boys, but come on. Get in some sort of shape, and get some real ring gear.
