Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H

It’s hard to imagine this being anywhere near as bad as the last Highlight Reel, which is the kind of clusterkerfuffle that  can (and did) sink entire episodes of television. This, however, involves just two people — presumably — and by all reports was totally enjoyable in a way that doesn’t make your brain want to burrow out of your skull. That Vince reportedly had to come out afterwards to chastise the audience  for how terrible they are likely  had significantly more to do  with how over-the-top terrible UK crowds are than anything to do with the quality of the content. Seriously, can the WWE just stop airing shows from England? It would make everything easier.

Bray Wyatt d. Sin Cara

It looks like the “let’s make people lose interest in this Wyatt-Ambrose feud” European tour continues. While it’s entirely understandable that they’d rather not waste valuable assets on feeding time for Bray, couldn’t someone people at least nominally care about — Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, or even Heath Slater — be used for  this instead? Sin Cara is the “Albert Pujols on the Angels” of WWE. Ain’t that right, Bill?

Gold and Stardust d. Adam Rose and The Bunny.

While an actual tag team division has obvious positives, having also-rans like Adam Rose and the Rosebuds be part of it makes for matches where important performers — like, for instance, the TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS — are forced to play second fiddle to the sparking of a mid-card feud between a Russell Brand imitation and a grown man in a neon bunny costume. And even for professional wrestling,  that’s just silly.

Dolph Ziggler d. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro in an Elimination Match for Intercontinental Title.

Almost literally worth the price of  admission by itself, this should be the type of match where even the idiots in England will be pleased.

Natalya d. Layla

Looks like Layla is getting the hometown discount, while the WWE builds a ridiculous feud between Summer Rae and Natalya based on the possibility that either Layla or Summer would ever be interested in Nattie’s husband Tyson Kidd Gollum. And even for Total Divas, that’s just silly.

Ryback d. Kane.

THE BIG GUY IS BACK. Whether or not this ends with Ryback joining Team Cena is of significantly less concern than whether or not this means that going forward Ryback will be given the “the Authority doesn’t like you” push. And at least this time, it will be done with someone who is an A+ player. Amirite?
Guys?

You should WATCH this show. With what’s supposed to  be a FANTASTIC three-way match for an actual title, the continues resurgence of  Ryback, and a new Highlight Reel that promises  to be not nearly as terrible as the last one, it looks like things might finally be starting to come up SmackDown.
