Angry Andy’s Top 10 WrestleMania Replacements for Brock Lesnar

Owens

10. Kevin Owens

Why it works: Owens is far and away the most dominant newcomer in WWE since the Shield debuted.  He’s phenomenal in the ring and, while he may not look like Brock, he’s one of the few guys on the roster that can deliver a similarly brutal, physical match.  Also, you keep the feeling of a WORLD CHAMPION in the main event.  When Roman Reigns wins the WWE championship, he’s not beating a random fill-in; he’s beating the number one guy in WWE’s alternative league.

This would also be the way to absolutely NAIL the “Fandango debut,” where a guy makes his grand entry at WrestleMania.  If Owens loses, he loses to the new face of the business in the main event of WrestleMania.  If he wins?

He just won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in his debut at WrestleMania.

Why it would make me angry: The audience at large doesn’t know who he is.  There’s a solid chance that the crowd, and the announce team, would treat Owens like a relative unknown.  And it’d be a crying shame, considering just how well Owens has done to establish himself as a huge deal, in essentially no time at all, in NXT.
