1. Lance Storm
Why it works: If I can be serious for a moment… they don’t come much better than Lance Storm. The former superstar-turned-trainer runs one of the best pro wrestling schools in the world today. Ask almost any big name star where you should go for training, and there’s a pretty solid chance you’ll hear the Storm Wrestling Academy mentioned.
Lance was a world-class wrestler during his time in the ring. Now, he’s churning out world class talents at his school.
At least two of his trainees have made it to WWE. You know them as Emma and Tyler Breeze. If you have anything negative to say about their ring work, you’re either out of your mind, or not watching.
Lance also used to train in OVW. He had a big hand in grooming a lot of the guys who have climbed the ladder and made it to the top of today’s WWE.
Making Lance THE GUY in NXT would pretty much guarantee that anyone who makes it through developmental will be able to deliver in the ring.
Why it makes me angry: Lance has turned down training roles in the past, as he’s happy to run his school and stay with his family in Canada. Good for him.
Besides that, we all know that Lance’s strengths were in the ring. Lance would need a staff of guys who were way stronger than him on the mic, because if we’re relying on Lance to teach guys how to emote to sold-out arenas and stadiums…we may be in trouble.
