Andy’s Angry: A Retirement, 2 Debuts, and a Second Chance

Neville

Neville

The former NXT Champion made his WWE main roster debut at the post-Mania edition of Raw, and make no mistake about it, it was awesome. Neville was quicker than a hickup, and perfectly hit a bunch of high-speed spots. Even the super-smarky #RawAfterMania crowd let out a few genuine “whoa”s during his impressive display. If you’re going to make an impact on a singles debut, this is how you do it.

Why it works: Neville looked like a bonafide superstar from the second he walked through the curtain. Fans who didn’t know him got a quick glimpse at what he’s capable off, and were left wanting more. I’ve been watching the guy wrestle since he was a midcard guy on the indies, and even I was left saying “wow, I can’t wait to see what he does next.”

Why I’m angry: The first-name curse strikes again. R.I.P. Adrian. I mean, I have friends who address me by my last name, but never once have I walked into a party, or a job interview, or an international television program, and introduced myself as “Miller.”

In six months:  Neville vs. Daniel Bryan for the intercontinental championship is stealing the show at house shows, and everywhere else. He may already be a former champion, after first dethroning the former American Dragon.
