The Buildup
Everyone is shitting on this match, and I get it. Ryback isn’t the superstar you think he should be. WWE pulled the emergency break on Kalisto’s momentum with his clustercuss feud with Alberto Del Rio.
We know. Get over it.
Here’s the reality of the situation. Kalisto is an unbelievable talent. Ryback is not, but he’s decent enough to pull off a good match with someone who is. He’s also not afraid to put in the work and do things he has no business doing.
This match should be a sleeper hit. I’m looking at this one the way Nick looks at Davey Boy vs. The Warlord.
That said.. yeah, the build sucked. Ryback turned heel out of nowhere, and did literally nothing to earn a title shot… but folks, it’s wrestling. You’re just going to have to make the most of it.
