NYWC: Angry Andy Reviews “Draw The Line”

NYWC returned to action Saturday, November 29th for “Draw the Line.”  It was a pretty solid show, featuring 11 good-to-great matches.

I had a lot of fun at this show, for a few different reasons.  First off, I brought my good friend Dan, who recently joined Nick and me to tag team wrestling.  He came for the cage match, and seemed to have a pretty good time throughout.

Also, we were surrounded by kids in the crowd.  There’s something really fun about watching and listening as little kids react to professional wrestling.  It’s an interesting reminder that not everything on the show is geared to 20-something-year-old smart marks, and that something that isn’t a hit with you can still be a huge success overall.  Plus, listening to the insults a little kid hurls at the heels?  Absolutely priceless.  The little guy sitting next to me had me laughing all night.

And not to mention, the guys and girls who stepped in the ring tonight all worked really hard.  I know that sounds so cliché to say, but you can always tell when someone is dogging it, or unhappy with the booking decision, or generally uninterested in being in the ring.  There was none of that tonight.  Even post-show, there were guys selling the result of the main event in the parking lot, selling their satisfaction (or lack thereof) in the way things played out.  Kayfabe lives.

Anyway, there are another 2-thousand words or so to this review, so let’s get to the action.
